After this, it is your choice as to how long you would prefer to book the session.

At this time, individual sessions are typically offered to those that are 14 years and older. It is recommended, that those under the age of 14, receive family counselling. Parents of children between the ages of 14 and 16 will be asked to sign a contract as to what confidentiality will look like between the clinician and client. It is important that your child understand their rights to confidentiality and where you stand in terms of it. This will be discussed in detail at the initial session, which will include the parent.

Family therapy is not typically recommended for children 5 and under. Most often it would be more beneficial for couples counselling, should you have young children. If struggles within the family dynamic still exist as the children grow, the couples counselling would provide a base with which to grow from in terms of family therapy.
